Con un título tan provocador las expectativas ante el último lanzamiento de Algara no eran pocas. Esta cinta de 8 temas sirve como adelanto del álbum completo que se está cocinando y saldrá en poco tiempo, pero por lo pronto ya traen sorpresas bajo el brazo regrabando su primer EP, esta vez, como una sólida formación de cuatro -en vez de dos-, nuevos temas, y un sonido mucho más personal. Guitarras rotas, líneas de bajo duras, voces y letras directas, sin filtro, que poco tienen que envidiar a leyendas como Siniestro Total o Crisis. Miedo A Perder y Expulsados ejemplifican a la perfección esa mezcla de fría distorsión y un mensaje político directo y conversacional. Suele ser un trabajo de ingeniería meter tanto contenido en canciones de poco más de minuto y medio, pero el cuarteto barcelonés son profesionales del formato. Si quieres escuchar a que suena la posmodernidad -el lado bueno, el interesante-, Algara se lleva palma. With such a provocative title, expectations for Algara‘s latest release were not low. This 8-track tape serves as a preview of the full album that is cooking up and will be out soon, but for now they already have something up their sleeve, like the re-recording some songs of their first EP, but this time as a solid four-track line-up – instead of two -, new songs, and a much more personal sound. Broken guitars, hard bass lines under direct and unfiltered vocals and lyrics that have little to envy legends like Siniestro Total or Crisis. Miedo A Perder and Expulsados exemplify perfectly this mixture of cold distortion and a direct and conversational political message. It’s usually an engineering job to put so much content into songs that are just over a minute and a half long, but the Barcelona quartet are professionals in the format. If you want to hear what post-modernity sounds like – the good side, the interesting side – Algara is one of the best you will find.
